Destin Personal Trainer Knows Detoxing Sucks, Literally and Figuratively

Have you ever tried a detox as a fat loss remedy? Lost some weight didn’t you? Gained it back didn’t you? Detoxing is classic starvation and dehydration and just the latest con job being shoved down your throats and unfortunately way too many of you are buying into it and potential danger as well.

The detox mentality of cleansing your body each season for two, three, even ten days is hilarious. Think about it for a second. You eat butter and drink whiskey for 20 years straight then in JUST three days of fasting on tea and special fruits your back to normal health and ready to climb Mt. Everest.

One of the most popular detoxes out there ‘The Master Cleanse’, also known as the Lemonade Diet dates back to the 1970s. It got a publicity boost recently when pop star Beyoncé Knowles lost 20 pounds in 10 days on the diet to slim down for her role in Dreamgirls. Not surprisingly the news caused a sales spike for the syrup used in the lemonade and BOOM. . .instant fad. Shame on you Beyonce for jumping on the quick fix wagon passing this horrible method of weight loss onto all you’re adoring fans.Detox advocates go on and on about the importance of ridding the body of toxins and poisons absorbed thru our skin and ingested via junk food. Funny how they love taking your money while they run their mouths though. To date I know of no process that supports the claim that your body needs a detox to purge environmental toxins out of its system.

NEWFALSH— This just in, you have this amazing thing called a liver in addition to a mega filtering hwy called your G.I. tract. Our body is designed to handle just about everything you shovel into it and it does a hell of a job. Why screw that up with pseudoscience and conartist pushing fad diets and detox?

So in conclusion in the event you may have missed my message, Destin personal trainer knows that detoxing is complete rubbish and absolutely unnecessary. The best way to lose FAT and keep it off is through balanced nutrition and exercise.

Here is a great detox for all of you, eat 4-6 meals a day consisting of whole foods focusing on great sources of proteins, carbs and fats. Throw in roughly one gallon of water daily and some good rest and here is the tricky part. . .do this every day.

Remember the golden rule of all things health and fitness, keep it simple and if it seems to good to be true, well you know the rest don’t you?
